Silver
I'm Silver (a longtime nickname), and I'm an artist (a longtime profession and personal interest). I began this blog to relate the ups and downs and ins and outs of my 2005 progression into altered art after over a decade's hiatus from physical media. It's the art that matters, but there is no art without the artist. Thus this blog is about the process of making altered books, and it's also about Altered Silver.
I've been an artist since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I've explored many media (personally and professionally) and my favorites came to be color pencils (Prismacolor), acrylics, paper (folding, sculpting, papier mache, origami), pencil/ink and yes, crayons too. With my first computer, I was immediately hooked on this new technological art medium and for over a decade, I worked exclusively digitally, gathering a wide arsenal of digital art tools. Recently, I've made a return to paper, working on several altered books and collage projects which I chronicle in this blog.
