DailyCollage : Try some of everything

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usThis final page in my gluebook was begun by constructing an abstract background of bits and pieces of partial images. Onto that, I added the open window with the curtain and arm, with a bit of foliage overhanging it from above. Then the found text.

What a nice way to finish a gluebook, acknowledging that the ending is also a beginning!

DailyCollage : Paper punches

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usI made the background by cutting strips of a "busy" image, then glueing down the strips in various lengths. The blue hearts were punched.

(I'd previously followed the "paper punches" prompt for my September 16th gluepage, and interestingly enough, used blue hearts on that one, too.)

DailyCollage : Where worry finally ends

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usSingle Magazine Challenge Day 7
Here's to the final day of using this Ladies Home Journal issue, at least for all-in-a-row work. The challenge definitely forced me to work with imagery I'd normally pass over. I'm happy for what I got out of it, and amazingly, the issue still has a great deal more "stuff" in it. If I viewed all my magazine fodder in this manner, I wouldn't need to purchase a new magazine for at least a year! I'll try to keep that in mind next time I'm faced with the "fresh meat" selection on a store's magazine racks.

DailyCollage : Flowers

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usSingle Magazine Challenge Day 6
In a page-by-page examination of my target magazine, I couldn't find any flowers (except a small group that was so tiny I'd never be able to cut them out.) I knew where else I could grab a decent flower, but that was in a different magazine and therefore off-limits during this week-long challenge. So for today's page, I created my own flower by using a heart-shaped punch to assemble a yellow-orange blossom and green leaves. Well, it's some kind of flower, at least.

(I'd previously followed the "flowers" prompt for my September 14th gluepage.)

DailyCollage : Endless

The prompt for today was probably "newspaper," but Yahoo skipped me, so I went off on my own for this page. All I can say about this one is that I liked the red and slate color scheme.

DailyCollage : Orange & Pink

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usSingle Magazine Challenge Day 4
In the dim lights of evening, what looks orange may be yellow and what looks pink may be red. So if you look at this page in evening light, it's filled with orange and pink and just a touch of blue.

(I'd previously followed the "orange & pink" prompt for my September 12th gluepage.)

There are changes ahead for my gluebooking. The physical book I've been glueing into will accommodate me for only five more days.

DailyCollage : Half

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usSingle Magazine Challenge Day 3
The background image for this page was already "halved" in print, so I just cut it to fit my page, then added the found text phrases.

(I'd previously followed the "half" prompt for my September 11th gluepage.)

DailyCollage : Rainbow colors

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usSingle Magazine Challenge Day 2
I started by snipping a strip of a nice orange color, then found a nice green and snipped that. Before I knew it, I'd found the entire spectrum in plain, solid color strips!

(I'd previously followed the "rainbow colors" prompt for my September 10th gluepage.)

DailyCollage : Strips

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usSingle Magazine Challenge Day 1
Today I begin the Single Magazine Challenge which means I'll be working from just one magazine for a full week. The magazine I randomly picked is Ladies Home Journal which doesn't really hold a lot of promise, but we'll see how it goes.

Yahoo sent me a prompt, hurray! Of course, with the prompts repeating from last year (which are the prompts I began my gluebook with), today's prompt matches the one I followed for my September 9th page, which feels very recent for me. A very different page emerges, however. For this one, I cut the image into vertical strips, then glued them down in reverse order. I really like the fragmented effect this gives it.
