Altered Silver

I decided up front that I wanted to go heavy on solid tones for this one, so I gathered up some black and gathered up some white. Wasn't sure where it would go from there, however, until Adobe's advertisement text came to the rescue. The text was found exactly as it was glued, in a single piece.

The quotation is a lyrical phrase from a love song by Yes. When I thought about a page for "leaves," I couldn't shake the lyrics, so they became an integral part of this page.

If the previous gluebook page was about celebrating the results of efforts, this one is a dream about sampling the fruits of labors.

Today's prompt (officially for January 31, 2005) was a bit nebulous for me. I'm not sure if "The End" catches it rightly or not, but it was my interpretation of the gluebook pages I saw of that date. So here, I chose to illustrate The End as a reason for celebration and reaping of results from effort.

I have a very nice hanging file bucket where I store saved paper clippings according to subject or color. Unfortunately, there really isn't all that much stored in the files. One of these days, I should probably make it a project to start snipping from magazines and filing the snips.

Until then, I pick a magazine or two (or seven or twelve) and simply page through it/them, hoping to find something usable within a reasonable amount of searching time. Sometimes it works out quite well. Other times, not so much.

Through the process of paper weaving, an idyllic countryside scene is interwoven with a curious spiral thing that has some resemblence to a hurricane (a la Katrina), thereby visually integrating peace of mind into devastation.

What a fortuitous find that keyboard button was.

Who knew the letter B could be so much fun?

"Celestial" typically indicates astronomical stuff - sun, moon, stars, planets. I was able to toss in a couple stars, but in my gluebook, "celestial" refers to the invisible realms which are difficult to illustrate or to describe.
