Altered Silver

Today was my last day to be unprompted for a while, so I approached this page without any plans. After a bit of magazine-flipping, everything that stood out for me was about illumination, so I adhered it all into my gluebook.

I don't normally leave a background this unaltered, but I couldn't bring myself to cover these light rays or the bands of color. The text along the side reads, "He felt that he had indeed been blessed."

Purely playing, and I really like this one. There's just something about the "block" areas of color that I find appealing.

Life got hectic around this time, so I abandoned my own list of targets and planned to begin November with the current Gluebooks group prompts. So today's page was unprompted and just sort of fell together this way.

Curiously enough, when I first conceived of a "curves" target to add to my "opposite attributes" list, I was thinking of an elegant bannister along a curving stairway.
Honest.

I have no idea how sharp angles relate to an inner renaissance, but there they are together.

I'd cut four other pieces that were destined to be included in this one, but after these first three pieces were glued down, I realized it really didn't need anything more added.

The first image I picked out was for the background, a closeup view of wavy hair. But the background that was actually glued is not the one I first picked. As I continued along snipping out the heart and hands, the first image kind of...disappeared. I searched and searched for it, but it had simply vanished.

Some day, I'll be flipping through one of those magazines again and that piece will fall out, and I'll marvel at how it's already cut to fit a gluebook background...
