DailyCollage : Build your own

That huge cologne bottle makes a perfect castle in the sky.

DailyCollage : More than coincidence

I had some fun punching squares of solid tones. The plan was to overlap them in the gluing, forming colorful chevrons. But as they were being glued, the full-square view won out. The background of the second card was also solid tones (before colored pencils were added for some variation).

DailyCollage : Trust your instincts

I generally spend two or two-and-a-half hours gluing while watching some television. Today's cards came together unexpectedly quickly; in less than an hour, both were completed. I found that I had no problem filling the "extra" time with other activities. :)

DailyCollage : Let's get started

I hadn't used paper punches for awhile, so today I punched several circle shapes and glued them down to cover the card. Only later I realized I'd used punched circles just two days ago; hadn't remembered that because I'd grabbed those circles from my scrap pile, so they were actually punched some time back. (Not that any of that really matters, of course.)

DailyCollage : Hands on

Strangely today, I had to restrain myself from "piling on." I was in one of those moods where I just wanted to keep adding this and this and that and that...whew!

DailyCollage : Easy

Pretty much every day, I snip out more elements than I use that day. The excess are set aside to a scrap pile. For both of today's cards, I worked from those scraps that collect along the way.

DailyCollage : Made in the shade

Those round yellow things are some kind of plaster wall decorations. After snipping them away from a wall, I glued them to a floor, lol. The second card for today took very little effort on my part; I added two snips of text and drew a little border. That was enough.

DailyCollage : A taste of what's to come

Those are very large cranberries...or a very tiny candle.

DailyCollage : Transport your soul

Too many things needing doing, so when it came to glue-time, I grabbed elements quickly, slapped them together and didn't really get a chance to see what I'd done until the following day. I think it's cool how both the fish and the young woman appear to be in flight.

DailyCollage : Freshly inspired

Those of you keeping score at home may remember that back in October, I cut out a picture of hair to use as a background and a few minutes later, the piece I'd cut out had vanished! I searched all around for it, couldn't find it and ended up finding a different view of hair to use for my gluepage for that day. Well, take a guess at what I found today. Yes, there it was, tucked into an autumn issue of O Magazine, all nicely pre-sized for my gluebook (4"x 6"). My current gluecards are 3.25" x 5.25", so I trimmed it further and glued it down as a (long-overdue) background for this "freshly inspired" egg. I'm glad I was able to use it at long last.

The second card for today was looking a bit bland, so I pulled out my gel pens and doodled across the background. (Some of that shows up in the scan and some of it doesn't.) I liked the effect this gave. More doodling may be in my future.
